“…Out of the Blue” is a new series of original paintings that connect the elements that I love to portray; colour, light and value of the sea and sky. I was experimenting with many diverse colours this year and it was literally out of the blue that this colour Indigo took hold of my palette and would not leave! My work is very intuitive, emotive and expressive. When I start a painting it takes me on a journey of discovery until an image presents itself to me on the canvas. It is this surface dialogue that intrigues me as an artist and I have to continue painting. What started of as an idea with a new colour palette culminated in four months of painting with 20 completed oil paintings.
I hope that you love this series as much as I have loved painting them!
Thank you for joining me in my first online release in 2021 and I am looking forward to getting to know you all as valued friends and patrons.
Love Stella
